The City of Springs Car and Bike Show will be held on Sept. 20th, 2008 in the historic downtown Sulphur district.
"This year's show is expected to be the best yet with over 30 classes featuring some of the best classic, modified, and original cars and trucks anywhere between Oklahoma City and Dallas," said Sulphur Rotary Club member and show chairman Jeff Flowers. "We have also brought back the motorcycle classes this year. We will have great food and entertainment all day. Music will fill the air in the downtown area as we bring you the best era music along with some of the best live music you will hear anywhere with our downtown sound system."
The downtown area has been fitted with speakers up and down Muskogee Street, so everyone along the line can hear the music and keep up with activities at the plaza which will serve as a headquarters.
Flowers said there will be a tour bus to take participants and guests into the beautiful Chickasaw National Recreation area for those who want to see the park and the natural springs. The bus will run every hour, so visitors are encouraged to bring swimsuits or just pull up your jeans and enjoy the clear natural park water.
"As usual we will be giving large awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each class," said Flowers. "There will be special awards given for Police Chief, Fire Chief, and Mayor's awards."
He said the first 100 entries will receive a free t-shirt and dash plaque. All entries will be given a ticket for the CASH drawings. This year prizes will be $100.00, $250.00, $500.00, and the GRAND PRIZE $1,000.00, he said.
"Every entry gets a ticket for the drawing, so bring your friends and come join the fun," said Flowers.
The show's entry fee is $20.00 and all proceeds go to the Sulphur Rotary Club. For more information call Jeff Flowers at 580-622-6387 or e-mail him at flowers@brightok.net
According to Flowers, the show's original date was changed from September 13 to September 20. "If you received the e-mail with the 13th as the date of the show please change it to the 20th," he said.
