Sharon Kay Davis

Sharon Kay Davis

Sharon Kay Davis was born May 26, 1943, in Gainesville, TX, to the late Johnny and Beatrice (Harris) Fisher. She died on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 80.

Sharon grew up in Gainesville, graduating from Gainesville High School, Class of 1961. Shortly after graduating, she married Buck Andrews, and to this union was born one son, Chet. Later she moved from Gainesville to Ardmore, where she worked in banking. While living in Ardmore, she met Cecil Ernest Davis and the couple married on October 26, 1965, making their home in Sulphur. To this union were born two children, Cela Kay and Brad.

Sharon spent 25+ years working in manufacturing for Stromberg Carlson, Halliburton and the Flex Gate Corporation, retiring in 2013. In addition to her years in manufacturing, she and Cecil also operated the Fountain Club, in Sulphur, for many years. At the time of her death, she was working at the Wild West Liquor Store in Davis.

Sharon loved people, making everyone feel welcome in her life and her home. She was one that enjoyed being around others, especially her beloved family. While raising her three children, she was very much active in their lives, attending all school activities and being their number one cheerleader. This devotion spilled over into the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Memaw” cherished spending time with the kids playing games, watching scary shark movies and simply enjoying life together. Sharon had a goal of living long enough that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would know and remember her. The Lord blessed her with this goal.

Survivors include her three children, Chet Andrews and Loretta of Gainesville, TX, Cela Davis of Sulphur, and Brad Davis and wife Lisa of Caddo; six grandchildren, Amber Henry and husband Dean, JB Andrews, Pierce Andrews, Brock Mackey and Myckalla, Shara Purnell and husband Colton, and Jordan Davis; and four great-grandchildren, Jadon, Devin, Aubree and Alijah.

In addition to her parents Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Cecil on March 5, 2012, and an infant son, Chad Ernest Davis.

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Midway Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur. On line condolences may be offered at halesfuneralhomes.com.
