Cheer Up! Oklahoma appears to be making significant progress in the battle against COVID-19. Recent data show a dramatic drop in new virus cases as the steep case spike from holiday gatherings recedes.
Last week, Oklahoma had the nation’s highest rate of confirmed positive COVID cases at more than 20 percent. On a positive note, that might mean progress in reaching a “herd immunity” eventually.
Another positive note -- the state ranks number eight nationally in efficient vaccine distribution. Many in the state are now receiving their second dose of vaccine. With tens of thousands of new vaccine doses on the way, Oklahomans 65 years and older, and those with underlying conditions. will now be eligible for vaccinations.
