Since June, INCA Community Services’ public transit program, JAMM Transit, has been celebrating their 20th anniversary with a birthday campaign, “JAMM’n 20 Years,” with a different promotion each month that are designed to give back to the riders and community. But October marks the actual birthday month of JAMM Transit being open to the public and to celebrate 20 years of service, INCA is inviting riders, general public, local leaders, and community members to join in on a “JAMM Jubilee” celebration.
The JAMM Jubilee in Murray County will take place in Sulphur at the INCA office located at 1216 West 9th St., on Friday, Oct. 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The celebration will include food, fun games, prizes, bus and office tours, and more and is open to everyone in the community. The occasion will also be marked by a proclamation from city council and local legislators are expected to be in attendance.
In addition to the JAMM Jubilee,JAMM Transit is offering free town routes during the whole month of October and encourages the public to “Come JAMM with us!”
“We wanted to come up with an idea that would also reward our riders, as well as saying ‘Hip, hip hooray!’ for 20 years,” LaQuita Thornley, INCA Community Services Executive Director said. “Let’s give something back to them.”
