Certified Sulphur School Staff To Receive Pay Raise
Beginning July 1, certified staff at Sulphur Public Schools will receive a $1,220.00 pay raise. The raise does not replace annual step-up raises, but will be an additional benefit. The $1,220.00 is the recommended figure as result of the state legislature’s education funding bill passed this past session.
Although the raise is not mandated, officials felt it necessary to give the suggested raises to the certified staff. New Sulphur superintendent, Matt Holder, told members Monday night that the language in the bill was very open and action was at the discretion of school board members.
