Council Members Take Oath From FaceTiming City Attorney

Three members of the Sulphur City Council (standing) take the oath of office Monday evening during the group’s regular meeting. The oath was administered by city attorney Phil Hurst (inset), who performed the duties from home on FaceTime. This is the first time any council member has ever been sworn into office by electronic means, it is believed. Taking the oath were, from left, Dan Gordon, Darryl Cole and high school student Cedon Harazda. Seated, second from left, is Mayor Ryan Peters, who did not come up for election this year. Harazda, 18, is the youngest person to ever serve on that body, officials said.
