Council OKs New Policy Governing Social Media
In light agenda action, members of the Sulphur City Council approved a Social Media Policy for the employees. The action was taken at their regular monthly meeting Monday night. The policy prevents employees from posting negative comments or the bashing of city workers and covers all forms of social media including facebook, twitter, instagram, snap chat, etc.
In other agenda action, the board tabled an item approving payment of $5,000 to the Murray County Development Authority for FY 18-19 for economic development services. This item will be re-visited at the May meeting. The city is currently paying $2,000 per month to Retail Attractions for economic development. The contract for Retail Attractions is a joint effort with the City of Davis. The contract is for a three-year period and the city is in the second year of the contract.
Council members approved re-appointment of Janet Carter as the Murray County representative of the Southern Oklahoma Library System Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
