Health Fair Offers Water Attractions
For the first time in its 19-year history, Arbuckle Memorial Hospital’s annual Health Fair featured a giant inflatable water slide. Other water-based attractions included a slip-and-slide, water balloon toss, and a dunk tank.
The fair was totally different this year compared to last. In 2018, the fair took place during a torrential downpour ... definitely not the kind of “water attraction” one wants at a fair! All events had to take place inside the hospital that day.
The family friendly fair was held Saturday morning, July 27 at the Arbuckle Memorial Hospital. By mid-morning, the event was well attended, and the parking lots were full and overflowing.
Youngsters could tour the Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter that landed on the hospital lawn. Sulphur Police and Fire vehicles also were on display.
Music and announcements for the event were provided by Burk Ozbirn of OZ Productions.
The health part of the event included nearly three dozen Health Information Booths and free health screenings. Visitors could get their blood pressure checked, their glucose screened, vision and eye health advice offered, plus information on oral health and stroke prevention.
