Historical Society Learns About Home Health Agency
The featured speaker at the Arbuckle Historical Society meeting Monday, Nov. 18, was Christy Babb, co-owner of Arbuckle Home Health in Sulphur. Babb traced the history of the business and explained the unique nature of the enterprise.
Babb and Julie Darras have operated the business since 2012. “We have 57 years of experience between us,” Babb recalled.
“We are one of 300 agencies across the state that are certified Medicare agencies,” she explained. Many agencies are run by big corporations Babb said. It is difficult and expensive for individuals to start this kind of business.
“We think what sets us apart from the others is that we are not only privately owned but we are clinician owned as well,” Babb said. “I am a registered nurse and my partner is a physical therapist. We think that benefits our patients.”
