Raine, Wisp and Darby will be used by the Chickasaw National Recreation Area this summer to help stop the spread of aquatic invasive species such as zebra mussels by sniffing out the problem.The dogs are trained to detect several of the invasive species and will be used during boating inspections at Arbuckle Lake.

Photo Show Winners Picked

The Adult Photography Expo was judged on Monday, May 6 by Douglas Strickland, a photographer from the Pauls Valley area. Photographer Aylissa Marion swept the top awards winning two ribbons in the Advanced Category, plus the Best of Show award. The show is sponsored by the Artists of the Arbuckles.

Marion earned $100 as Best of Show. She also gets $75 for winning Best of the Advanced Category, and earned a ribbon for placing 1st in that category. The winning photo, entered in the Landscape sub-category, is titled “West Texas Glamour.”

The only other cash award in the show ($50) went to Bill Roach who earned Judge’s Choice for his photo titled “Big City Bright Lights.” The photo also earned 1st Place in the Cities/Architecture sub-category of the Advanced overall Category.

Best of the Amateur Category went to Lynda Carr, and Best of the Professional Category went to Tina Miller.
