Priddy Wins Tribal Runoff In Tight Voting
In a closely contested Chickasaw Nation legislative runoff election, Sulphur city councilman Derrick Priddy edged Bradley Steven Woods by a slim 33 votes.
The results were announced last week by Chickasaw Nation Election Secretary Rita Loder shortly after the Times-Democrat’s Tuesday deadline.
The two Sulphur men were vying for the Tishomingo District 2 seat on the Chickasaw Nation Legislature, a seat that is being vacated by the retiring Tim Colbert, also of Sulphur.
Priddy, an employee of the Chickasaw Telephone Co., captured 818 votes (51 percent) to Woods’ 785 votes (49 percent).
