School Board Renews Principals’ Contracts

Financial Report Shows School With $5.65 Million Balance

Following a brief executive session, the Sulphur Board of Education renewed contracts for all four building principals at the regular monthly meeting Monday night. Clete Cole was retained as the high school principal with Toby Todd as the assistant; Steven Pyle will remain at the helm of the Middle School; John Mann at Intermediate School and Shannon Muck at the Elementary.

The board also accepted the resignations of Jan Jones, Jan Morton and Terri Agee.

Also, discussion was held in executive session on tutoring for home based services and approved upon returning to regular session.

The financial report, prepared by David Harp, showed the school with a total balance of $5,625,000.00 in combined accounts. The general fund balance is $3.2 million, building fund $154,000.00, child nutrition fund $205,000.00, bond fund $1,295,000.00 remaining as work continues on bond projects, sinking fund $361,000.00 and gift fund balance was $42,000.00. The report was approved.
