After the suspension of in-person classroom work in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sulphur Public School students are set to return to class on August 12, but with a number of social distancing guidelines and other pandemic-related measures in place.
School Opening Plans Released
Sulphur Superintendent Matt Holder has unveiled plans for Sulphur students to return to the classroom but with several changes being made.
Students are scheduled to start on August 12 with teachers reporting on August 10.
“I know you all have been anxiously waiting for information about the upcoming school year. With the situation constantly changing, I’ve been hesitant about releasing a plan,” Holder said. “Please know that this is our current plan, but that things could change based on the COVID-19 numbers fluctuating and mandates from the state. Any updates or changes will be released as soon as they are available. “Nothing is set in stone, if we need to make a change, we will dot it.”
