SPS Students Can Get Free Breakfast, Lunch
Sulphur Public School students can now have free breakfast and lunch at the school each day until December 31, 2020 or until funds are depleted. The free meals are made available through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sulphur School Board members were informed of the free meals at the regular monthly meeting Monday night.
Fob Jones presided over the meeting in the absence of Board President David Allen.
Superintendent Matt Holder presented the financial report as prepared by Treasurer David Harp. Holder reported the district currently has approximately $4,151, 000.00 in combined funds including $2,587,000 in general fund; $507,000 building fund; $234,000 child nutrition fund; $320,000 bond fund; $460,000 sinking fund and $41,000 gift fund.
