Sulphur Memories Relived
Gene Williams, 91, felt right at home Saturday, Nov. 4 as he toured the Arbuckle Historical Society’s museum downtown Sulphur. He used to live upstairs in that building when he was a policeman and firefighter here. He now lives in the Oklahoma City area.
“I moved to Sulphur in May, 1950,” Williams recalled. He remembered each room in the Museum used to house city workers, including the mayor, city manager, fire and police chiefs, and city clerk. Williams became chief of police in 1958 he said.
