Turner Falls Swimming Hole To Close Early After 2 Drown

A popular swimming hole at Turner Falls will close for the season after two Indian nationals, both students at University of Texas at Arlington, drowned there last Tuesday, according to city officials.

The falls swimming hole will close a month earlier than normal in the wake of the two drownings, according to reports. Other swimming areas, camping and other activities will remain open at the popular park southwest of Davis, city officials said. However, according to Assistant Chief of Police Dee Gregory, the diving board and slide will close for the season at the Blue Hole, but swimming there will still be allowed.
