Crash On Chickasaw Turnpike Kills Roff Woman; MSC Prof Dies In Johnson County Accident

Two more lives were lost in traffic accidents last week, including one in Murray County on the Chickasaw Turnpike late last Tuesday, Oct. 1, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Killed in that crash was Randi Kirkland, 37, of Roff, troopers said. According to the patrol, Kirkland was driving westbound on the Chickasaw Turnpike about 9:43 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle crossed the centerline and struck her 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver of the other vehicle, Gaurav Shukla, 44, of Chicago, IL, was not hurt, according to the patrol. The accident happened about six miles north and three miles east of Sulphur, troopers said. Aspects of the crash remain under investigation. Investigating the accident was Trooper Chasen Bennett. He was assisted by Trooper Ken Duncan, Lt. Bryant Harris, Sulphur Fire Department, Ada Mercy and Murray County EMS. In an accident the following day, on October 2, a 33-year-old Tishomingo woman died in a Johnston County crash, five miles north of Tishomingo, according to the patrol.

Troopers said Kendra Parker was southbound on U.S. 377 about 12:26 p.m. when her vehicle went left of center and struck a dump truck.

The driver of the truck, Ronald Breeden, 61, Palestine, Texas, was not hurt, according to the patrol. Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Aspects of that crash remain under investigation.
