Group Tours Historic County Locations

Leadership Murray County Class XVII kept the roads hot this past week with a scavenger hunt around Murray County to learn the rich history of Murray County. The class visited 10 historical locations and took pictures of at least 20 more. They started the day with an in depth tour at the Arbuckle Historical Society Museum and enjoyed lunch at The Flower Bluff where they learned of its haunting past. Other locations included The Davis Museum, The Davis News, and Turner Ranch.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade Comes To Sulphur

The Kindergarten classes of the Sulphur Elementary School presented their very own “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” on Friday prior to the Thanksgiving break.

Sulphur’s Hometown Christmas Event Set Saturday

Sulphur’s Hometown Christmas festivities are planned for Saturday, Nov. 27 with activities beginning around 5:00 p.m. in the downtown area followed by the annual Christmas Parade beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the 2021 Parade Of Lights going through the downtown area with Santa making his grand appearance.

Christmas memories for the whole family will be in the offing at “Sulphur’s Hometown Christmas” event, hosted by the Sulphur Chamber of Commerce, November 27 on the Muskogee Street Plaza in downtown area.

Kiwanis Club Honors Outstanding School Employees

Four Sulphur teachers and a support staff employee were honored last Friday during the Bulldog’s playoff football game vs. Anadarko. The five honorees and those presenting the awards are shown above. Four teachers in the Sulphur school system and one support staff employee were recognized in pre-game festivities during last Friday night’s playoff football game “for going above and beyond in the education of their students.”
