Early voting begins Thursday May 6th for voters in Murray County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, which is May 11, have the option of voting early at the Murray County Election Board.
OHCE members Donna Perhus and Susie Edgar, second and third from right, met with the Murray County Commissioners recently in celebration of OHCE week. The members presented the commissioners an Oklahoma road map from 1925 showing the roads in Murray County. A portion of the county sales tax goes to support the work of OHCE members and their efforts regarding education and community service. Two first degree murder suspects waived their right to a preliminary hearing last week and were bound over for trial, according to the Murray County Assistant District Attorney’s office.
The Sulphur Lady Bulldogs rallied through the loser’s bracket last Friday in the regional meet to earn a ticket to this week’s state slowpitch softball tournament, beating Plainview for the title. The local girls made state the hard way after losing their first game to the Indians, then re-grouping and battling through the loser’s bracket and storming past Plainview for the title in the title game.
