Opening Night ceremonies in Sulphur are planned for Saturday, Nov. 28 with activities beginning around 5:00 p.m.

Sulphur firemen last week mop up a small grass fire on Burnside Road, containing it to just a few acres. But, while they were able to contain this one, Sulphur Fire Chief Pete Haines is advising caution while burning or working outdoors with power equipment due to the heavy fuel load and the every present Oklahoma wind.

Cases of COVI-19 have risen sharply in Murray County since last week, according to figures from the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Murray County Court Clerk Christie Pittman notified commissioners that she had deposited a letter of intention with the County Clerk’s Office, to resign her post effective February 1, 2021. The notice took place during new business at the regular weekly commissioners’ meeting on Monday.
