LADY BULLDOGS HEADED TO STATE--Sulphur’s Lady Bulldogs fastpitch team will be headed northbound to Shawnee on Thursday to compete in the first round of the state tournament after winning the regional tournament last Friday, beating Kingston in the double elimination meet. Sulphur opened the regional at home on Thursday with wins over Prague and Kingston, then lost to Kingston on Friday in the first game of the finals. In the second game, the Lady Bulldogs hammered down on the Lady Redskins to win the tournament. Sulphur will now turn their attention to the state tournament where they will be making their eighth appearance. They will meet Henryetta at the Fire Lake Complex in Shawnee in first-round action starting at 11:00 a.m. The team is led by head coach Heath Gilbert and assisted by Mike Matlack.
