One man died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 177 early Monday. It happened just north of Seven Sisters Hills Rd., in Carter County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
A massive law enforcement presence descended on Southern Oklahoma and I-35 near Davis last Wednesday through the weekend after a shootout occurred when a Cleveland County officer stopped a fleeing suspect. The officer was wounded in an ensuing shootout and a man sitting in a nearby truck was killed by a stray bullet, reports said. The suspect fled on foot and remains at large as of presstime Wednesday.
