The Arts Return To Sulphur Young and Old Can Enjoy

The Artesian Gallery in Sulphur is hosting a new artwork exhibit featuring works in many media by members of the Artists of the Arbuckles. The exhibit is free and open to the public from Monday through Saturday. This show is not judged; it is a chance for the artists to display some of their favorite works. Some pieces are offered for sale. Shown here are some of the dozens of art creations on display. The show opened on Monday, June 6, and runs through Saturday, July 16, when it will close with an Artists’ Reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. PHOTO BY MIKE WEST

After pandemic-caused exhibit cancellations, local art galleries finally are coming back to life offering several events and art activities soon.

Small, American Flags placed on the graves of Murray County Veterans blow in the Oklahoma wind last weekend as the county and nation celebrated Memorial Day and the lives lost in the service to this country. Sulphur American Legion Post 148 and local volunteers place the flags on veterans’ graves at Oaklawn Cemetery as a gesture of saluting those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who have passed on after serving this country.
