In “Historic” Vote, Voters OK School Bond

In a vote that will have an impact for decades to come, Sulphur Public School District voters gave the green light to a $36.35 million bond issue to remake the aging high school campus. It was, by far, the largest-ever bond passage by local school district patrons.

SHS Vocal Presents “Into The Woods”

The musical, Into The Woods, was presented by Sulphur High School performing arts’ students to packed audiences last Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the school auditorium.

Late Sulphur Grad Honored With Highway Designation In Mill Creek Ceremony

About 100 people gathered in the Mill Creek School Gym on Friday, March 25 to honor the late Clyde Runyan, a long time Johnston County businessman, with the naming of a highway in his honor. S.H. 1, north out of Mill Creek to the S.H. 7 junction, will now have an additional designation as the Sgt. Clyde Runyan Memorial Highway in honor of his service to the U.S. Army.
