Boots and Bowties was the theme for the annual Sulphur Davis Joint Chamber of Commerce Banquet held last Thursday evening at the Murray County Expo Center.
About 100 people gathered in the Mill Creek School Gym on Friday, March 25 to honor the late Clyde Runyan, a long time Johnston County businessman, with the naming of a highway in his honor. S.H. 1, north out of Mill Creek to the S.H. 7 junction, will now have an additional designation as the Sgt. Clyde Runyan Memorial Highway in honor of his service to the U.S. Army.
Early voting begins Thursday, March 31 for voters in Murray County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.
Voters in Sulphur will go to the polls next Tuesday to choose between an incumbent and a challenger for the right to represent the city’s Ward I district.
