CNRA Affected By Partial Government Shutdown

The partial federal government shutdown that began on Dec. 22, 2018 has become the longest shutdown in history as of Saturday, Jan. 12. The shutdown was three weeks old then.

The Community Food Box program in Sulphur started with installation of the “yellow box,” shown at left, in the shopping plaza on Broadway at W. 16th St. It was begun by the Mayo Family, who still maintains the box along with the community. That box is temporarily located near the Dollar General store entrance, while the parking lot is undergoing renovation.
