Betty Blanche Biggerstaff Compton, 72, of Malden, Missouri was born February 11, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas to William Biggerstaff and Blanche Holder Biggerstaff. She lived in Sulphur, Oklahoma during her youth. She died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri of complications from congestive heart failure.

She married H. Max Hilfiker on July 3, 1969 in El Paso, Texas and later married Jimmie Compton on Nov. 18, 1993. Jimmie preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2004.

Survivors include one daughter, Inga Ladd of Dexter, Missouri; two grandchildren, Joshua Ladd and Emily Ladd; one brother, Kenneth Biggerstaff of Sulphur; and one niece, Leann Pitmon of Sulphur.

A memorial service was held in Missouri on Thursday, January 19, 2017 with Pastor Justin Sponaugle officiating. Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Missouri arranged the ceremony.

An informal memorial luncheon in Oklahoma will take place at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at The Springs in The Artesian Hotel in Sulphur to be followed by the interment of her urn at Oaklawn Cemetary.
