Betty LaVern (Jean) McDaniel

Betty LaVern (Jean) McDaniel, 93, Pauls Valley, was born August 31, 1928, in Izzard County, Arkansas, to the late William Arthur and Clercy Elizabeth (Hays) Jean. She passed away on Friday, Nov. 19, in Pauls Valley. She and Lloyd Cameron “Bud” McDaniel were married on August 27, 1952, in Pauls Valley. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2004.

Betty grew up in Murray and Garvin Counties. She was a 1946 graduate of Wayne High School. She later attended Autry Technology Center in Enid, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse’s Certificate. Betty spent 20+ years working in the health care industry, in Pauls Valley, Enid and Arkansas City, KS. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and going fishing with her sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Ferguson, of Pauls Valley; four grandchildren; one sister, Gail Mayberry of Wynnewood;and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by one son, Gary McDaniel: and four siblings, Wilma, Ernestine, Buell, and Lonnie.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
