Betty Sue Fine

Services for Betty Sue Fine were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, at the Ken Brown Gymnasium at OSD officiated by Rev Nathan Fylstra and assisted by Rev. Tim Moore and Christopher Reagle. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home. Born December 26, 1931 in Ratliff, Mississippi to Odie and Avo (Cummings) Beene, she passed away Thursday, July 5, in Sulphur, at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 9 days. Betty grew up in Conway, Arkansas and graduated from the Arkansas School for the Deaf in 1953. She married William “Billy” Fine in Conway, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1962. Betty moved to Sulphur in 1965 and began working at OSD in food service. In 1967, she began work as a teacher’s aide in physical education. She retired after working at the school for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Ray Fine and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Fine, of Sulphur and Dalshell Reagle and husband, Christopher, of Sulphur; four grandchildren, Jerome Reagle, Ashleigh Tucker, Darsha Reagle, Elisha Reagle and two great grandchildren, Tinlee Tucker and Teagan Tucker and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Christopher Reagle, Jerome Reagle, Gary Beene, Tommy Varner, Landon Venegas, and Timmy Scoggins. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Betty Fine Museum at OSD.
