Dora Mae Flowers

Dora Mae “Granny” Flowers, of Moore, passed away April 23, 2019 at the age of 80.

She was born October 31, 1938, in Sulphur, to Verbel and Nettie Bell (Brown) VanHorn.

Dora enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. She also enjoyed family gatherings and trying out new restaurants. Dora loved taking care of people. She was a beloved wife, mother, granny, sister and friend.

Dora is survived by her daughter, Maxine Waltersand husband, Loren; granddaughter, Cindy Millican and husband, Eric; great-granddaughter, Mollie Millican; one brother, Jerry Van-Horn and wife, Mary; two sisters, Sue Driskill and Linda Givens; great-niece, Tiffany Traylor and husband, Jeremy; two great-greatnieces, Karli and Ryla Linder; and two great-great-nephews, Jayden and Wyatt Traylor; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, L.C. Stone and Henry Flowers; one son, Jimmy Stone; one sister, Gloria Shephard; and two brothers, Virgil VanHorn and Billy Ray VanHorn.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, OK. She was laid to rest at Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur.

Services were under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
