A happy memorial service for long time resident of Sulphur, Floyd Lee Matson, was held on October 10, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Silver Dollar.
Mr. Matson is the son of Ralph and Nora “Rucker” Poynter. He was born on September 14, 1954 and passed away on September 17, 2020 at the age of 66 years and 3 days.
Floyd leaves behind one daughter, April Prentice, of Broken Arrow; one son, Terry Brandon Matson and wife, Jacie “Wright” Matson, of Sulphur; his grandchildren, Rayleigh Reid Matson and his little brother or sister on the way and Christopher, Dakota and Hailli Prentice; two sisters, Trisha Remy, of Wilson, and Karen Johnston and husband, Mike, of Sulphur; three brothers, Gene and David Matson, of Oklahoma City and Steve Poynter, of Stratford.
Floyd had a great love for all his family members especially his grandkids. He also enjoyed sitting on the couch watching westerns and old war movies with his best friends, which were his two dogs Jace and Ace.
Floyd grew up in the Sulphur area and attended Sulphur School. He has worked as a construction worker and a line cook around the Sulphur area.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
