Services for Gene Neal, 95, Sulphur, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at Crossway Baptist Church officiated by Rev Bill Leveridge. Burial was held at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home.
Gene was born November 19, 1924 in Sulphur to Harce and Annabelle (Elliston) Neal. He passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 in Sulphur, at the age of 95 years, 9 months and 22 days.
He married Anita J. (Holder) Neal in Sulphur on June 8, 1951.
Gene had lived in this area most of his life, where he graduated from Sulphur High School. He served in the U.S. Army-Air Corp as a nose gunner in the South Pacific during WW11. Gene had worked as a park ranger for the National Park Service until his retirement. He was a member and deacon of Crossway Baptist Church since 1972.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Ludene West.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Neal, of the home; sons and their wives, Lanny Neal and Debbie, of Oklahoma City and Terry Neal and Lisa, of Sulphur; seven grandchildren and spouses, Matt Neal, Megan Bowering and Hunter, Marcus Neal and Meagan, McKenzie Neal, Chelsea Neal, Caleb Neal and Brooklyn, Carleigh Tyler & Houston and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matt Neal, Marcus Neal, Caleb Neal, Hunter Bowering, Houston Tyler, and Ryan Heim.
A Military Service by the U.S. Air Force Honor’s Team will be held.
