Jerry Walton Higginbotham
Jerry Walton Higginbotham was born to Jack and Betty Lou (Mc-Cracken) Higginbotham on July 17, 1953 in Sulphur. He passed away on July 22, 2019 in Little Rock, Ark., from injuries sustained in an auto/pedestrian accident that occurred on July 10, 2019.
He married Gail Radford on July 14, 1979. They had two children, Aron Higginbotham and Amanda Dresser.
Jerry loved wild outdoor adventures including hiking, camping, mountain bike riding, photography, snowboarding, white water rafting and scuba diving. He enjoyed telling stories and showing pictures of all his adventures.
Jerry served in the U.S. Navy and has worked as a rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for the past 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Lou; his step-father, Wendyl Adams, of Madill; and his beloved brother-in- law, Lonny Britt.
He is survived by his son, Aron Higginbotham and wife, Marlene, of Northfolk, Va.; his daughter, Amanda Dresser and husband, Beau, of Sulphur; grandchildren, Kylie and Colton Dresser, of Sulphur; sister, Jackie Britt, of Sulpuhr; brothers, Jim Higginbotham and wife, Gena, of Wewoka, Lewis Adams and wife, Vera, of Lone Grove and John Adams and wife, Rhiannon, of Montana. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
A celebration of life was held at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Sulphur on July 29, 2019.
