Joe Ray Nelson Eddy

Services for Joe Ray Nelson Eddy, of Sulphur, were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Crossway Baptist Church Chapel with Rev Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment followed in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Born November 6, 1937 in Roff, to Charlie and Caroline (Parnacher) Eddy, he passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Sulphur at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 11 days.

Joe had lived all of his life in this area, and in the same house for the past 58 years.

He retired from Haliburton as a welder and had served in the National Guard.

Joe married Willie Mae Catheryn Elrod on July 12, 1959 in Denison, Texas. She preceded him in death February 6, 2018.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe Eddy Jr., great granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Myers; six brothers, Leon, Calvin, Charlie, Jackie, M.P. and R.P.; and four sisters, Mary Cain, Willeta Hope Neely, Helena Kay Cain, and Leota Simco.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Preast and Preston of Stratford, Patricia Tracy Medlin and Bob of Francis; daughter-in-law, Anita Eddy of Sulphur; three sons, Jimmy Eddy and Lori of Sulphur, Ronald Eddy and Kat of Joy, and Anthony Rice and Shelly of Mustang; one sister, Cindy Langford and Gene of Sulphur; 22 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Eddy, Cody Eddy, Derek Eddy, Jeremey Eddy, Eric Preast, Scott Gorrell, and Jacob Eddy,
