November 20, 1932 – August 20, 2018

Johnie left us on August 20, 2018, after a three-week illness. He was a kind and generous man, a good Christian. After a 21-year career in the U.S. Air Force, where he served with distinction, he retired at age 39. He then had a second career, driving big rigs for the next 24 years. In the Air Force, he was stationed in many states and in Greenland, Guam, and Thailand. He spent much of his time in missile silos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Johnie Hodge, 3 sisters (Georgie Steen, Bonnie Wyatt and Woneta Barton), his son Gary, and long-time friend Nancy Bailey. He is survived by his sister Jessie Brown of Sun City West, AZ, daughter Darlene of Mill Creek, and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much, and many friends. While unfortunate scheduling challenges did not allow for family travel time to attend or send flowers, please know that we were there in spirit.
