Johnnie E. Aaron Mobly
Services for Johnnie E. Aaron Mobly, 90, of Sulphur, were held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at the First Free Will Baptist Church officiated by Rev Dick Terry. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.
Johnnie passed from this earth on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Sulphur, at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 29 days.
She was born September 19, 1928 in Butler, OK to George and Ada (Pearce) Aaron. At age 4, Johnnie moved to Sulphur and resided here for 86 years. Johnnie was a graduate of the Sulphur High School class of 1946.
On July 31, 1948, in Sulphur, she married Boby Gene Mobly. He preceded her in death August 29, 1982. Johnnie was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer for nearly 50 years along with teaching Sunday School and serving as VBS Director. She was involved in the Women’s Auxiliary and was the chairman of the Benevolence Committee. Johnnie was active and involved in OHCE where she served as a local, county and state officer. She was a 69-year member of Oaklawn OHCE Club. Johnnie was elected to the Murray County Fair Board and served 50 plus years. She played a vital role in the Murray County Fair each year. She was a volunteer 4-H Leader for 50 plus years and a supporter of the Murray County Livestock Show.
Johnnie retired from a Grade A dairy business and farming operation. She created many friends when she worked at Sulphur Abstract Company, Freeman Livestock Auction, and Clagg Funeral Home. Johnnie, known to many as “MeMaw Mobly” was a strong willed lady and very proud of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Earnestean Bigger, Ollie Lowrance; brother, Arnold Aaron; great grandsons, Cole Mobly, Cord Mobly and great granddaughter, Emma Stephens.
She is survived by her children, Larry and Dana Mobly, of Choctaw, Gary and Donna Mobly, of Sulphur, Beverly and Joe Runyan, of Sulphur, Gena and Darren Alexander, of Madill; grandchildren, Larry Michael Mobly, Chad Mobly, Johvon Tidwell and Dirk, Shannon Muck and Joey, Bonny Stephens and Corey, Briana Laxton and Tracey, Becca Ward and Jason, Talon Alexander and Kaylen and Abbie Alexander; great grandchildren, Colton and Annabella Mobly, Rilee, Kalee and Casey Tidwell, Dillon, Dak, and Samantha Stephens, MaKella, Mace and Maddax Mobly, Dawson, Delanie and Destrie Muck, Dillon, Nadalie and Levi Laxton, Sean, Kylie and Oaklie Ward, Baker Alexander; sisters-in-law, Georgie Mobly, and Charlsie (Dink) and husband, Bill Martin, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Larry Michael Mobly, Chad Mobly, Talon Alexander, Dirk Tidwell, Joey Muck, Jason Ward, Corey Stephens, and Tracey Laxton.
Honorary bearers were Tom Payne, Darrel Payne, Jim Parker, Glen Leming, Jerry Payne, Steve Howe, Mitch Hull and Fob Jones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sulphur First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund.
