Funeral services for Judith JoAnn (Gibbs) Swartz, 70, Edmond, will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Davis, with Chaplain Jeremy L. Hatley officiating. Inter ment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Judith JoAnn, better known by her family and friends as “JJ” or “Judy,” was born February 25, 1952, in Wynnewood, to Chester H. and Emagene (Cottrell) Gibbs. She passed away on Sunday, April 17, at her home in Edmond, following a 14-year courageous battle with stage four cancer.

JJ grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, class of 1970. Her adventurous life led her through various occupations. She began as a vocational hairstylist which took her into professional modeling and custom clothing designs. Later she entered the sales business, working for Wilson Foods. Prior to failing health, JJ worked in the medical field, where she worked as a sales professional, selling diabetic health products and equipment.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Anderson Swartz; mother, Emagene Gibbs of Davis; son, Michael Anderson Swartz of Queens, NY; brother, Chester Gibbs, Jr. of Davis; two sisters-in-law, Rhonda Gibbs of Davis, and Susan Marie Krcik and husband, Richard of Des Plaines, IL; two uncles and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding JJ in death were her father, Chester Gibbs; and one brother, Joey Gibbs.

Services are “Entrusted To” HALE’S Funeral Home of Davis.
