Linda Ann Parrott

Graveside services for Linda Ann Parrott, 64, San Antonio, Texas, will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Drake Cemetery with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating. Arrangements will be under the direction of Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Linda was born November 8, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to Jimmy and Hazel (Butler) Pierce. She died Sunday, Feb. 19, in Oklahoma City.

Linda grew up in the San Antonio area. Following marriage, she moved to the Austin area where she worked several years as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She later made her home in Ardmore where she worked for Bacon Transport and Peoples Federal Lending as a retail loan officer. Prior to retiring in 2013, due to health issues, Linda worked at the Best Western Motel in Ardmore. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include one daughter, Kasie Nichols and husband, Kevin of Shawnee; one son, Preston Gage Friemel of Sulphur; mother, Hazel Okkonen, Schofield, Wisc.; grandmother, Ruby Beasley, Suphur; daughter-in-law, Lisa Allen; five grandchildren; one sister, Jackie Robinson and two brothers, Alan and Matti Okkonen.

Linda was preceded in death by one son, Zachary Parrott; step-fathers, Wilho Okkonen and Jack Best; one brother, Dale “Jake” Best and grandfather, George Washington Beasley.
