Mary L. (Moore) Davis

Services for Mary L. (Moore) Davis will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Rev. Jeff Flowers officiating. Interment will follow at the Reck Cemetery in Wilson under the direction of Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.

Mary was born April 22, 1937 in Ringling, to the late Lake S. and Nora C. (McMillian) Moore. She passed from this life on Sunday, Dec. 9, in Ada, at the age of 82 years.

Mary grew up in the Ringling area, graduating from Velma High School. She spent several years working as a customer service representative for FerrellGas. Mary was an avid Texas Rangers’ fan. She was a charter member of the Texas Rangers Womens Club, serving as a past secretary. Her love for the Rangers made it possible for her to meet President George W. Bush and sit with him throughout a baseball game. According to Mary, this was her claim to fame. She was also fortunate enough to personally meet and visit with Nolan Ryan. In her spare time, she enjoyed working puzzles and reading. Mary was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Davis.

Survivors include one daughter, Wanema Davis, of Davis; grandson, Blake Davis and wife Sarah, of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Shannon Rovinsky and husband, Alex of Fort Worth; great-granddaughter, Ellisyn Rovinsky; two very special nieces, Cynthia Jenkins and Patricia Austin and several beloved nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death one son, Tony Davis, in October 2018and her four siblings, Patsy, Betty, Benny and Sonny.
