Mrs. Mary Ruth Fogle

Mrs. Mary Ruth Fogle, beloved wife, mother and meme, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Mother’s Day, May 12th, 2019. She leaves here on earth, her true love of 55 years, and husband of 53 years, Mr. John Fogle; sister, Nancey Volenstine and husband Larry; son, Michael Fogle and wife Audra;, daughter, Jill Campos and husband Mike; grandchildren, Taylor Schwartz and husband Joe, Adam Fogle, Garret Hines, Brittany, Lindsay and Tristan Campos, and great-grandson Henry.

Mary was born on January 30th, 1948, in Duncan, OK to Forest and Margaret Davis. She grew up in Fox, and graduated from Fox High School in 1966. She married her adoring husband John, on December 21, 1965. Mary attended Murray State College. They lived in Tishomingo, Ardmore, and Healdton, before moving to Sulphur in 1977. Mary loved children and taught preschool for many years before going to work at Washington Elementary School in Sulphur, as a teacher’s aide. Several years later, Mary went to work at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf, working as the secretary in the infirmary. She fell in love with the children at OSD and worked there for 25 years before retiring in 2006. The family joined Calvary Baptist Church, after moving to Sulphur, where Mary taught Sunday School to many ages, but loved her 2 and 3 toddlers the best. She taught at Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, played in the hand-bell choir, was a substitute pianist and served in countless other ways. Mary remained active in her church until several years after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2013. She loved her family and friends, adored her grandchildren, and loved traveling with John in their RV while spending summers in Cloud Croft, New Mexico, with many dear friends.

Mary was a true Proverbs 31 woman. Everyone who knew her here on earth were blessed by her kindness, love and joy. We know when she took her first breath in heaven, she heard her Lord say, “Well done my child”.

Memorial services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, in Sulphur, on Friday, May 17th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church in honor of Mary.
