Ralph Lee Branham, Sr.
Ralph Lee Branham, Sr. was born February 8, 1937 in Lexington, Ky., to the late Charles and Evelyn (Brown) Branham. He died Tuesday, Nov.14, in Davis, at the age of 80. He and the former Ms. Linda Sue Cates were married in June, 1978 in San Antonio, Texas. Ralph’s childhood was spent in several states including Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Georgia. Following his 1957 graduation from Moore High School, he joined the United States Army, in the National Guards, Army Reserves and the active Army. After being honorably discharged from the Army with 12 years of service, Ralph attended the Police Academy in Georgia. He spent 10 years working as a police officer in Georgia before working as an officer for the University of Oklahoma Police Dept. He also served a short time as Chief of Police in Jones. Following his career as a police officer, Ralph began driving a truck for several major trucking companies. In 2001, he and Linda moved to Davis, where he drove a truck for Dolese Bro’s and Hanson Aggregates. He also spent several years driving a truck wrecker for P&M Wrecker service. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching TV. Ralph was a current member of the Masonic Tyre Lodge # 42 of Davis and received recognition for 50 years of membership with the Masons on October 28, 2017. Survivors include his wife Linda; five sons, Ralph Branham, Jr. of Davis, Dane Branham of Perth, Australia, Lewis Branham of Davis, James Adcock of Davis and David Adcock of Ardmore; two daughters, Ramona Kerford of Jones and Andrea Gaskins of Norman; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Branham; and two grandsons, Michael Branham and Leon Kerford. A private time of remembrance for the family was held Friday, Nov.17, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel. Services were entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
