Funeral services for Rita Kay McGill were held 2:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Sulphur with Pastor Dick Terry officiating. Interment will follow at the Dolberg Cemetery in Roff. Rita, better known as “Grandy” to her family, was born Feb 8, 1950 in Ft Smith, Ark. to the late Richard Arvid and Bille Jean (Frazier) Adams. She died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 in Sulphur, at the age of 66. Rita and Bennie Roy McGill were married on Dec. 20, 1972 in Sulphur. Rita grew up in the Greenwood, Ark. area prior to marrying and moving to Sulphur in 1972. Many words could be used to describe this great lady, but hardworking, devoted and “giver” tops the list. She spent her entire married life providing the very best for her family. Rita was always very supportive of her kids and grandkids, whatever activities they were involved in. She was very active in giving back to others within her family and community. She enjoyed playing softball and bowling every opportunity she had. Rita was a charter member of the Murray County Antique Tractor and Implement Club and worked extremely hard to promote the club. Survivors include her husband, Bennie; one daughter, Kerrie Stanley and husband, Lanny of Pauls Valley; one son, Mitch McGilland& wife, Jill of Sulphur; four grandchildren, Logan and Ledger Stanley and Ben and Nick McGill; one brother, Rick Adams of Lufkin, Texas; one sister, Judi Misale of Kirksville, Mo. as well as numerous niece and nephews.
