Wanda Sue (Swanson) Smith

Services for Wanda Sue (Swanson) Smith, 79, Sulphur, were held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Eric Coker officiating. Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis under the direction of Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis. Wanda was born August 8, 1937 in Duncan to the late Judson and Vera (Surginer) Swanson. She died Friday, July 21, in Sulphur. Wanda grew up in the Davis/Velma area, attending high school in Woodland. Following her marriage, she spent several years working as a beautician in Davis, prior to managing the Alameda Club for a few years. Later, Wanda became a Licensed Certified Nurse’s Aide, working in home health care. Following her retirement in 2009, Wanda enjoyed gardening, playing computer games, watching her daily soap operas and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Molly Jones and husband Joe of Ardmore, Martha Casey & husband David of Hennepin and Judy Cline of Davis; one son, Arthur Garrison of Nevada and five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
