Busy First Week Of Legislature In The Books
I have a lot to catch everyone up on as we had an extremely busy first week of session. First, I want to remind everyone that you can sign up for press releases, read bills, check agendas and listen to committee and floor proceedings on our website at www.oksenate. gov.
The first order of business Monday morning was our caucus luncheon and prayer meeting. We then convened in the Senate Chamber before heading to the House Chamber to hear Gov. Stitt’s third State of the State Address. We’re now studying his budget proposal and are anxious to work together to help Oklahoma’s economy be stronger than ever.
Committee agendas were full this week, which is different than past years but since session was cut short last year because of the pandemic, we have to make up for lost time. I’m pleased that several of my bills (Senate Bills 67, 68, 69, 75, 76, 86, 114, 136, 282 and 285) made it out of committee. You can learn more about these measures on the Senate website.
