This W.P.A. oral history was recorded by fieldworker Jasper Mead on January 22, 1938 at Mr. Moncrief’s residence at Chickasha, OK. I was born August 22, 1857 in the Choctaw Nation. I am oneeighth Choctaw on my mother’s side.
