Simpson’s Session Review
The last two weeks have been a bit slower after the race to get all of the Senate bills heard on the Floor. We returned to our committees during Spring Break but many House bills were still being assigned so there weren’t many bills to consider.
This week, all the bills had been assigned and work continued as usual. While a few House bills have already made it to the Governor’s desk, nine more were heard on the Floor Thursday. This week, we’ll see many more on the agenda as committee work speeds up.
This session, I’m serving as the principal Senate author for 13 House measures. As usual, they deal with a wide range of topics including veterans registry, burn bans, nursing homes, children placement, child care and railroads.
