Last week, both chambers of Congress passed the same version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2021, sending it to the president’s desk. This marks the 60th consecutive year that lawmakers have delivered this bipartisan legislation. Indeed, authorizing resources to support our nation’s common defense through passage of the NDAA each year is one of the most critical responsibilities of Congress. Enacting the NDAA is vital to sustaining and strengthening programs and resources to keep our nation safe while also supporting the devoted and brave individuals who make every mission possible.
Ready or not, the holidays are here. For many people, it’s a season of equal parts excitement and dread. This year this is especially true with the added stress of trying keep certain holiday traditions and family gatherings while following recommendations for staying safe.
One of the first projects undertaken by the CCC was the improvement of Flower Park. In April of 1934, the main entrance of the Park on Highway 18 (now U.S. 177) had a beautiful curved rock entry built. In the center of each rock wall was a bubbling fountain where water ran down the wall into a catch basin. The water came from nearby sulphur well.
While this year has been filled with unique challenges and changes, Oklahoma Bar Association is keeping its tradition in celebrating the 45th annual Law Day by holding an art and writing contest for all Oklahoma students.
