Determination Led To Ruth’s Hurdles’ Title
Last spring, Sulphur’s Kenzie Ruth finished as runner-up in the 300 hurdles. A great season, for sure.
But Ruth wasn’t satisfied. And she wasn’t going to let it happen again.
Ruth set the school record twice this spring, en route to winning a title at the Class 3A State Track Meet, shattering her school record in the 300 hurdles to win gold with a time of 44.76.
For her, she used last year and the year before as motivation to grab gold this year.
“The difference this year was from competing at state the last two years and getting better,” she said. “I was the state runner up last year and it just made me hungry for more.”
