Goodman Caps Off Golf Career With 24th In State
Sulphur senior Jordan Goodman capped off her Bulldog golf career last week at the state tournament, finishing 24th overall.
Goodman, who qualified for state all four years of her high school career, shot 87-94 to finish tied for 24th. She was just 10 strokes away from a top 20 finish.
“She played well on the first day,” said Sulphur head coach Grant Bates. “She was sitting at just +10 with just three holes left before the rain delay, but didn’t finish like she wanted to and shot
87. She was in a good spot, sitting top 20 after the first day.”
Goodman fired a 94 in her final round on the second day.
“The second day, things didn’t go her way and she struggled some,” Bates said. “She wasn’t hitting it like she was accustomed to but like seasoned golfers do, she grinned it out and found a way to shoot a decent score and place in the top 25.”
