Howe Looking For Third Pole Vaulting Title

After winning state in the pole vault last year, Sulphur’s Faith Howe had already accomplished more than most in her high school career.

So what about now, after Howe won again this spring and captured her second straight individual straight title.

Howe dominated the competition all year and it was no different at state. She vaulted 12-02, while the runner up finished at 10’.

And for Howe, it still hasn’t sunk in. But she has enjoyed the journey to get to this point.

“It feels sort of unreal,” she said. “I’m still the same person I was long before I ever even started vaulting. All I can really say is that I’ve worked really hard and been blessed to have a lot of people willing to help and believe in me. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs to get here but ultimately it’s all paid off.”
